Some women say their hijab represents religiously mandated modesty.
Some women say their hijab is a political statement.
Some women say they are forced to wear a hijab.
Pat Shea, a non-Muslim voluntarily put on a hijab during a mosque sermon on “Domestic Violence/Compassionate & Honorable Treatment Towards Women in Islam.”
Pat Shea is the YWCA CEO and operates the largest domestic violence shelter in the state of Tennessee. Does Shea know that the hijab is a source of violence to Muslim women worldwide and in the U.S?
Muslim women have been killed for refusing to wear a hijab. For example:
- 2007 – Canada, murder of 16 year old Aqsa Parvez choked to death by her father
with the hijab she refused to wear
- 2014 – in Somalia, woman murdered for refusing to veil
- 2015 – Iraq, five women stoned to death for not wearing a hijab
- 2015 – India, father kills his four year old daughter for not wearing a hijab at dinner
January 2015, a non-Muslim woman living in Muslim-majority Bangladesh murdered for not wearing a hijab
Muslim women have been threatened with violence for not wearing a hijab. For example:
- 2011 – Britain, woman is threatened with death by her cousin for not wearing a
- 2013 – Sudan, a woman faces whipping for not wearing a hijab
- 2014 – Pankisi Gorge, a brother stabs his sister for refusing to wear a hijab
- 2015 – Missouri, a high school student dragged her from her
classroom and assaulted by a relative for not wearing a hijab
Enlightened Muslim women in 2015 reject people like Pat Shea putting on a hijab
Self-described “mainstream Muslim women” living in the U.S., many of whom were born in countries where sharia law governed, have rejected the mysogynistic Islamic call for women to cover themselves. They reject Western women showing “solidarity” by participating in “Wear a Hijab” day and interfaith imitators tying on the headscarf.
In fact, these adult Muslim women explain that hijab doesn’t even mean headscarf. “This conflation of hijab with the secular word headscarf is misleading. ‘Hijab’ literally means ‘curtain’ in Arabic. It also means ‘hiding,’ ‘obstructing’ and ‘isolating’ someone or something. It is never used in the Koran to mean headscarf.”
These women understand that if Muslim women living in the West are free to choose hijab or no hijab, patriarchy in Islam which is supported and perpetuated by political Islamists, will cease to dominate.
Political Islamists like Remziya Suleyman and Kasar Abdullah Bigdawidi (pictured above with Shea), are Muslim activists who have promoted Islamist Muslim Brotherhood organizations like CAIR and the Muslim Students Association. They assert absurd hijab positions like the hijab gives them more rights than American women allowing them to be judged by intellect, not looks.
Suleyman even admitted that she didn’t start wearing a hijab until 2008 when she
coincidentally also started lobbying in the Tennessee state legislature. With all the rights she asserts afforded by wearing a hijab, her Islamic community still maintains her first duty is to find a husband and complete her “deen” (subjugation).
Shame on Shea
Kasar Abdullah Bigdawidi is the token Islamist on Shea’s YWCA board, so Shea, true to leftist hypocrisy, let herself be used for Kasar’s political purposes even though the YWCA claims to be an advocate for women’s rights.
When YWCA CEO Pat Shea put on the hijab she professed to upholding the Islamic laws that knowledgeable Muslim women understand keep them in a second class status.
Muslim Brotherhood CAIR lawyer Zahra Billoo says “[t]he flag of Islam is our women who wear hijab.” The hijab is a symbol.
So is the Nazi salute.
The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society announced that they will drop the word “Hebrew” and go simply by “HIAS.” They are one of the national federal refugee resettlement contractors screaming for Obama to admit at least 200,000 Syrian refugees regardless of valid security and cost concerns. HIAS and the other resettlement industry contractors have criticized Obama’s measly 10,000 Syrians that he has begun bringing to the U.S. This number of 10,000 is on top of the 70,000 plus of the mostly-sharia-compliant refugees from Islamic America-hating countries.
HIAS, like all resettlement businesses whose revenue is overwhelimingly government money, try to camouflage their extreme political leftism using religious organizational labels. They claim a moral superiority because “they save lives.”
The URJ also supports “Free Choice in Abortion.”
The URJ has a political arm called the Religious Action Center (RAC) whose work and policy positions are “mandated” by the URJ and the various arms of the Reform Jewish movement. The Nashville Temple Ohabai Sholom in Nashville, is a Reform Jewish congregation and a member of the URJ, a recipient of URJ grant money, and as the Temple’s rabbi Shana Mackler says, is a proud supporter of Planned Parenthood.
The Temple is led by senior rabbi Mark Schiftan who shares the URJ’s love of Muslim Islamists. URJ’s immediate past president, rabbi Eric Yoffe, was one of the first Jewish leaders to speak at the annual ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) convention. ISNA was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood’s first U.S. organization, the Muslim Students Association (MSA). ISNA was also named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trial for financing the terrorist group HAMAS. HAMAS, a U.S. designated terrorist organization, the jihadist arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, is dedicated to the destruction of Israel.
Rabbi Schiftan says that Islamists who support the Muslim Brotherhood and HAMAS, are not enemies, just “opponents.” So the Murfreesboro mosque hosting HAMAS supporters like CAIR executive director Nihad Awad and senior Muslim Brotherhood leader and unindicted co-conspirator Jamal Badawi, was not reason enough to keep Schiftan from hauling his congregation to a mosque love-fest. Nor is the fundamentalism of imams trained at Al Ahzar University, the preeminent teaching center of sharia law, enough to keep Schiftan from looking for every public opportunity to validate an ideology focused on destroying Israel.
Yoffe has called John Hagee, an extremist. Hagee is the leader of CUFI (Christians United for Israel), one of Israel’s largest allies and advocates in the U.S. Leftists like Yoffe, and his “Torah of Liberalism” puts support for gays and abortion above sincere and impactful advocacy for the Jewish ancestral homeland.
Abbie Wolf, the Nashville Jewish Federation’s director of the Community Relations Council, shares Yoffe’s pro-Muslim bias and Christianophobia. In advance of a Nashville visit by CUFI’s Executive Director, Wolf published a piece titled “Christian Zionism – do the Concerns Outweigh the Benefits?” She says that the only real value Christian Zionist lovers of Israel bring to the table, is their large voting bloc and their money.
Like Yoffe, Wolf denounces Christian lovers of Israel because they don’t equally love Islamists like HAMAS and other Muslim Brotherhood followers.
Islamist ideology is obsessed with the destruction of Jews and Israel. Do political leftists who actively deny and abet the Islamist plan even deserve to call themselves Jews?
The Tennessee September renamed Islamophobia conference
Islamist activist Daoud Abudiab’s Faith and Culture Center originally planned on holding an Islamophobia conference on September 26, 2015 but renamed it after the Chattanooga jihadist murders. Pushing the idea that the Chattaooga jihadist’s actions had nothing to do with Muslims or Islam, the event is now called “Our Muslim Neighbor: Creating a Community of Inclusion in Middle Tennessee.”
Muslim convert Ingrid Mattson is one of the keynote speakers. She is a professor of Islamic Studies at Huron University College in Ontario Canada. She was the director of the MacDonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford Seminary in Connecticut as Director of Islamic Chaplaincy.
Mattson’s resume also includes positions with several major named Muslim Brotherhood organizations named as unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism prosecution for providing money to HAMAS.
The Faith and Culture Center (FCC) says it pursues “coexistence between people of faith and diverse cultures of the world.” Given the FCC’s use of interfaith activities to achieve its mission and vision, Mattson is at best, a questionable choice for speaker.
Mattson is not a credible interfaith partner
Even though the FCC’s sole focus is to promote “Our Muslim Neighbor,” the board is designed to reflect interfaith support for this mission by including a Jew and Christians. Board member Rev. Montgomery was part of a program at the Hartford Seminary during Mattson’s tenure. Mattson requires her Seminary students to read the works of the jihadists Sayyid Qutb and Syed Abu’l-`Ala Mawdudi.
In 2006 Mattson became the first female and first Muslim convert, to serve as president of the Muslim Brotherhood’s ISNA (Islamic Society of North America).
ISNA was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood’s first U.S. organization, the Muslim Students Association (MSA). ISNA was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trial for financing the terrorist group HAMAS.
HAMAS is dedicated to the destruction of Israel and is a U.S. designated terrorist organization.
ISNA is not a credible organization for interfaith initiatives. The following Quaranic sura that was posted on ISNA’s website, and eventually deleted (but screen shot saved) says:
“O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors; They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.”
Mattson works to create divisiveness between Jews and Christians, particularly Christians who support Israel. In a 2007 speech at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, she warned Jews that “right wing Christians are very risky allies for American Jews” because the “[Christians] are really anti-semitic. They do not like Jews.”
The other conference speakers
- Reverend Richard Cizik – co-founded the New Evangelical Partnership for the Common Good after he was removed as the chief lobbyist for the National Association of Evangelicals presumably for his far left positions on a variety of issues. Predictably, he supports the narrative that groups like the Faith and Culture Center and the Muslim Brotherhood promote, that the “American Muslim” is different than the Muslims “over there.”
- Major General Douglass Stone (retired) – well known for his work in promoting the rehabilitation of convicted violent extremist terrorists so they can return to their previous life style. He feels strongly that these violent but Islamically “moderate” individuals, many of whom he says only have ties to militants for financial, not ideological reasons, should not be punished, should be separated from the true jihadis, and provided a “program of proper care and custody, family involvement, religious teachings with moderate Islamic clerics…” Under his command, this experimental system was tried at the detention Camp Bucca in Iraq. Now in 2015, “[f]ormer Bucca prisoners are now throughout the IS leadership.”
Will Abudiab use the Tennessee 2014 hate crimes to show Islamophobia in Tennessee?
For the first time in several years, there were more anti-Muslim hate crimes than anti-Jewish hate crimes:
Hate crimes motivated by ANY bias are deplorable but it is important to assess the nature of the reported hate crime to understand whether and what it implies. For example, the one 2014 anti-Jewish hate crime was for simple assault which in Tennessee is minor bodily injury. Five of the anti-Muslim crimes were for vandalism and one for intimidation.
Muslim fabricated mosque vandalism is trending in Europe and the U.S.. CAIR’s San Francisco radical executive director, Zahra Billoo says Muslims need to report anything they think could be a hate crime or even an “incident.” She says incidents can add up so she can justify her anti- American, anti-non-Muslim and anti-Republican propaganda.
Islamists trying to exploit the Islamophobia label rush to assume that every Muslim murder victim was the act of an Islamophobe, even when it isn’t. Even the murder of the three Muslim students has not been proven to be an anti-Muslim hate crime by local law enforcement, nor did prosecutors argue this when asking for the death penalty for the first degree murder crime.
- the Associated Press has eliminated the term “Islamophobia” from its stylebook, the media “bible” to guide accuracy in reporting, and,
- the term “Islamophobia” is nothing more than name-calling designed to suppress any criticism of Islam and Muslims, and,
- the term was invented specifically for this purpose by a Muslim Brotherhood front organization, the International Institute for Islamic Thought (IIIT) an organization investigated for being the largest monetary donor to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group, and,
- in light of the Texas shooting and the Chattanooga jihadist murders and the recent exhortation in the Islamic State’s English magazine that Muslims in the West should be “inspired” by the shooting,
The Faith and Culture Center should be held responsible for any harm resulting from the inspiration they provide to attendees to further the propaganda of Islamophobia.
Will the Faith and Culture Center and ACO’s use of Islamophobia to silence critics provoke the jihadis just like it did in Garland, Texas and Chattanooga?
As a practical matter, the Tennessee Department of Homeland Security should be required to consider the very real and serious security risk this gratuitous conference poses to Tennesseans and the state’s elected leadership.
The ACMCU/ISPU November Targeting Meeting, cont’d
The November meeting’s moderator was Dalia Mogahed, co-author of Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think, with ACMCU director Esposito. Like Espositio, she is a defender of Muslim Brotherhood groups like CAIR. In 2009 Obama appointed Mogahed to his Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships making her the first Muslim woman White House advisor. She said that her role would be to “convey….to the President and other public officials, what it is Muslims want.” In a 2014 interview she said Muslims wanted “to be show[n] greater respect” and to be treated as “equals” and not perceived as needing to be “fixed or managed.”
Mogahed was born in Egypt, immigrated to the U.S. at age 5 with her family and became a naturalized citizen. Her accomplishments educationally and professionally are many and notably, often include legitimating Muslim Brotherhood groups.
Mogahed is a strong and vocal supporter of sharia law. She says the West’s understanding of sharia is “oversimplified” and that “the majority of women around the world associate it with ‘gender justice.’” Do the Yazidi women and young girls subjected to Islamic State’s sex slavery agree with her?
Mogahed’s White House appointment has successfully helped the radical, Muslim Brotherhood organizations such as CAIR, ISNA, MPAC, ICNA and MAS, become entrenched in the Obama administration.
In 2008, she supported recommendations for the administration to engage with Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and work with HAMAS, to improve relations with Muslims worldwide.
In 2011 Mogahed was instrumental in getting a White House meeting between Obama and the spiritual head of the Maronite Christians in Lebanon, cancelled. Reportedly, she received the request from the “higher leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.”
In 2009 Mogahed said that “Islamophobia in America is very real” but then in 2013 she said that Islamophobia is “made up,” and unrelated in any way to terrorist acts such as 9/11 or the Boston marathon bombing. She blames Islamophobia on Republican politicians. Mogahed is the ISPU Director for Research.
The November meeting’s panelists
The ACMCU/ISPU event highlighted self-serving “research” on Islamophobia “and its connection to bigotry targeting other communities.” The panel of “experts” representing these “other communities” included:
- Saeed Khan – ISPU Fellow and Research Fellow at Wayne State University’s Center for the Study of Citizenship
- Ajenai Clemmons – Policy Dir. at the National Black Caucus of State Legislators
- Madihha Ahussein – Staff Attorney at Muslim Advocates
- Joe McCartin – Exec. Dir, Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor, Bd. Member, Interfaith Worker Justice
The National Association of Lay Catholics includes Interfaith Worker Justice (IWJ) in their database of Alinsky inspired socialist community organizations. The IWJ lists several affiliates in Tennessee including the Workers Interfaith Network (WIN) located in Memphis. Not surprisingly, WIN is a member of a group that promotes BDS against Israel. WIN board members are also members of the Socialist Party. WIN’s founder, a Methodist minister from Chicago, authored a study guide about Islam.
The IWJ board predictably includes a Muslim Brotherhood representative. Naeem Baig, is the president of ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America), an organization named in the 1991 Muslim Brotherhood memo. Baig also serves in a leadership role with Religions for Peace USA (RFPUSA), itself tied to Islamist Muslim Brotherhood organizations in the U.S. Tennessee’s Daoud Abudiab’s Faith and Culture Center partners with RFPUSA and the “Our Muslim Neighbor” project belongs to the RFPUSA.
The welcoming message at ICNA’s 1999 annual conference was this: “We have a culture and civilization which once ruled the world and still has the viability to rule the world again,” similar to the written goals in the ICNA member handbook.
Ajenai Clemmons represented the National Black Caucus of State Legislators, a “national network and research clearinghouse for approximately 675 African-American state legislators across the country…” The sole “no” vote for this year’s Tennessee resolution condemning the BDS campaign against Israel and the increasing incidence of anti-Semitism, was cast by Memphis black Democrat G.A. Hardaway.
Lead researcher on this mapping project, Saeed Khan regularly speaks at Jew-hater Hatem Bazian’s Islamophobia conferences. In his talks the “non-partisan” ISPU researcher labels conservatives, white Republicans and Tea Party members as Islamophobes.
Madihha Ahussein is a staff lawyer from Muslim Advocates, a national legal advocacy organization whose sounds like the ACLU for Muslims. Their positions on FBI informants and government entrapment, denials of homegrown radicalization, and almost “reflexive criticism of counter-terrorism investigations,” are consistent with CAIR.
The ISPU “non-partisan?” The ISPU says they are “transforming their research approach” moving away from simply being a “think tank” to becoming a tool and asset for Alinsky-styled activists. Their 2015 event was titled “Elections 2016, American Muslims, Organizing People, Power and Change.” The ISPU has analyzed decades of Muslim political participation data.
The USCMO (U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations) is the self-styled “first national Muslim (Brotherhood) political party.” Founding members of the Council (many with ties to HAMAS), include unindicted Holy Land Foundation co-conspirator named Muslim Brotherhood organizations, fellow traveler Muslim Brotherhood organizations, and AMP (American Muslims for Palestine), one of the most vocal Muslim Jew-hating organizations in the U.S.
One initiative of the USCMO is conducting a U.S. Muslim census so they can tell politicians how many votes can be bartered.
The ISPU and the USCMO: working in concert, first for power and then to turn our Judeo-Christian country away from its allies and civilizational foundations.
When Islamists like former ACO (American Center for Outreach) director Remziya Suleyman tells you how she also reveres Jesus, most apologist Christians (especially those Family of Abraham fanatics) breathe the interfaith “they are just like us” sigh of relief.
The Muslim Brotherhood also “loves Jesus”
Last year, the MSA (Muslim Students Association) at East Tennessee State University put on a program called “Jesus in Islam”:
“We did a couple of lectures on campus last year,” Nimer [MSA President], said. “One was ‘Jesus in Islam.’ We talked about the misconceptions people have because a lot of people think we don’t believe in Jesus. We do, we love him, we respect him and we follow his teachings.”
Did the MSA read where the Quran says we are all supposedly Muslims which is why they refer to converts as “reverts”? According to the Quran, “Esa,” is Jesus’ real name because Jesus was a Muslim, he was not crucified and did not die on the cross but instead, ascended to Allah and anyone claiming otherwise is a liar, so when Jesus returns, he will “be a witness against Jews and Christians for believing in his death.” (4:157-159)
Did the MSA inform attendees that the hadith (traditions and sayings of Muhammad) say that when Jesus comes back, he goes on a pilgrimage to Mecca, he breaks the cross, kills the pig, does away with the “jizyah” (tax on Jews and Christians) and helps destroy Christianity once and for all?
“He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam.”
A Nashville Islamist tells Christians the truth if they will only hear it
In 1999 Awadh Binhazim, former Austin CAIR chapter leader and former board member at the Islamic Center of Nashville (ICN), proselytized Islam in Nashville through his Olive Tree Education project. Among Islamists operating in Tennessee, he was one of the least deceptive. While serving as the Vanderbilt Muslim chaplain, he admitted that Islam commands death for homosexuality, that Islam is not a matter of personal opinion but whatever Allah (as delivered by Mohammed) decreed. He lectured Islam’s supremacist belief regarding what Muslims believe about the Gospel:
“When Muslims say they believe in the Ingil, the Gospel and they believe in the Torah, and they believe in the Psalms, they qualify. They believe that there has been a change in the text of the Torah and the Gospel. Therefore, originality was lost…Authenticity was lost. And Muslis regard this to be a deliberate change by corrupt priests of the time. They distorted the word of God and eliminated the original Hebrew and Aramaic versions of their scriptures.”
Binhazim also publicized the writings by al-Qaeda operative Anwar al-Awlaki and senior Muslim Brotherhood leader and terrorism financing unindicted co-conspirator Jamal Badawi through his Olive Tree Education website:
Daoud Abudiab, founder of the Tennessee Faith and Culture Center which will be hosting an Islamophobia conference in September, partnered in dawa (proselytizing) with Binhazim.
Knoxville’s Anoor Academy textbook also teaches about Christians
Binhazim’s belief in the supremacy of Islam is also reflected in the textbook “What Islam Is All About” used at the private Islamic school in Knoxville. The textbook teaches the students this about Christians:
p.187 – “So, although the Christians and Jews may make a big noise about following Prophet Ibrahim, in fact, neither of them do. Prophet Ibrahim fulfilled Allah’s commands, the Jews don’t even follow half of what their corrupted books say. The Christians don’t follow anything except what their philosophers and priests make up from time to time.”
p.188 – “Prophet Ibrahim told people to do good and he forbade the wrong. Many ‘religious’ and ‘non-religious’ Jews and Christians lead such decadent and immoral lives that lying, alcohol, nudity, pronography, racism, foul language, pre-marital sex, homosexuality and everything else are accepted in their society, churches and synagogues. Just turn on the television in any Jewish or Christian community and see what’s ‘normal.’”
Quoting passages from the Quran, page 282 mocks Christians saying, “[w]hat does Allah say about all this nonsense that the Christian religion teaches?” and claims that Paul’s doctrines are false.
Other pages in the textbook are devoted to convincing the students that it’s not a good idea to have Christian friends but if for some reason they do only become friends to fulfill the duty to convert them to Islam.
ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America), another Muslim Brotherhood organization, uses “we love Jesus” for their dawa but conceals that the Quran says Muhammad revealed the Ingil (Gospel) to “Esa” (Jesus) because he was a Muslim. Exactly what these kids are being taught:
On Friday, July 24, 2015, when police in Chattanooga were escorting the funeral procession for Marine Staff Sgt. David Wyatt to the Chattanooga National Cemetery, some Baptists and their children attended prayers at the the Islamic Society of Greater Chattanooga, the jihad murderer’s mosque, to “…show them that we love them.”
The Christian women, who attended and brought their daughters, all wore headscarves. They “…asked that their church not be identified because not everyone was in agreement with them visiting, said they were struck by how similar the service was to the Christian messages they are used to hearing.”
The imam didn’t talk about the murders but for the benefit of a dawa opportunity did talk about the basics of Islam. This guy knows ignorant dhimmi Christians when he sees them.
As a Vanderbilt Ingram Scholar, Hytham Al-Hindi, gets his tuition fully paid for his undergraduate degree.
In exchange for the $160,000 plus in free education, Vanderbilt gets its own Jew-hating, HAMAS- connected Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) student organization, started by Al-Hindi.
Who is Hytham Al-Hindi and what are his motives to align with SJP?
Hytham Al-Hindi is from Jonesboro, Arkansas. His father, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hindi is a cardiologist who graduated from Jordan University of Science & Technology in northern Jordan, the country presumed to be where Dr. Al-Hindi immigrated from to the U.S.
In 2008, about 3.5 million people in Jordan were believed to be of Palestinian ancestry. Is Dr. Al-Hindi’s ancestry Palestinian? Does Dr. Al-Hindi have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan? Is he an anti-Israel sympathizer? Does he have political views that may have influenced his son?
Hytham Al-Hindi’s Ingram Scholars bio documents his high engagement with the immigrant and refugee populations in Nashville. He volunteers with the refugee resettlement agency NICE (Nashville International Center for Empowerment), that was started by a former refugee turned government contractor “entrepeneur.” (Remember this when the propagandists tell you how great it is that refugees come and start businesses.)
Hytham’s facebook page looks like the who’s who of Muslim Brotherhood organizations. His listed “favorites” include:
- Vanderbilt and UTK’s Muslim Students Association
- Islamic Center of Nashville (ICN) which was the mosque for al-Qaeda imam Abdulhakim Mohammed
- American Center for Outreach (ACO) run by former Muslim Brotherhood CAIR director Paul Galloway
- Hamza Yusuf who describes Judaism as the most racist religion
- Tariq Ramadan (grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna)
- Suhaib Webb – vocal Jew hater
Since he has started an SJP chapter at Vanderbilt, it’s no surprise that he also lists as “favorites” some of the most aggressive and virulent leftist anti-Israel and Jew-hating individuals and organizations that promote the BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against Israel). After all, demonization and delegitimization of Israel along with promoting BDS is the core belief of SJP:
- Angela Davis – former Black Panther party member and Communist
- Noam Chomsky – “America is worse than Nazi Germany”
- Rachel Corrie Foundation
- Jewish Voice for Peace – listed by the Anti-Defamation League as one of the top 10 anti-Israel groups in the U.S. and an aggressive promoter of BDS
- SJP Loyola
- Loyola Divest
- NU Divest (Northwestern University Divest) – in February, its student government passed a divest Israel resolution by two votes
The end goal of the BDS campaign is to eliminate the State of Israel since its existence is hateful to Islam. When pro-BDS and pro-Hamas agitators chant “from the river to the sea Palestine will be free” they are saying that their vision is that there will be no Israel between the Jordan River and Mediterranean—and no Jews – it’s Judenrein.
SJP emulates the language and values of HAMAS. For this reason and because of the extreme anti-Israel and anti-Jewish hatred displayed by the chapter members, SJP is more accurately labeled “Hamas on Campus.”
SJP chapters on college campuses sponsor events like “Israel Apartheid Week,” disrupt pro-Israel events, and are the primary agitators pushing anti-Israel BDS resolutions introduced to student governments. SJP chapters have created hostile and intimidating campus environments for Jewish students. SJP prides itself on bringing conflict and divisiveness to college campuses along with using a well-financed disinformation campaign that spreads their hatred towards Jews and Israel.
Vanderbilt inviting Jew hatred?
Vanderbilt actively recruits international students. The university is promoted by CampusExplorer as a desirable school for students from the Middle East. The 2014 “Open Doors on International Education Exchange” report says that of the over 690,000 international students enrolled in four year U.S. colleges and graduate programs, almost 34,000 came from the Middle East:
43% – Qatar, 36% – UAE, 34% – Iran, 25% – Saudi Arabia, 20% – Kuwait.
They are all Muslim majority countries, some of which promote hatred of Jews and Israel. Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader who supports Palestinian suicide bombings, is based in Qatar. Saudi Arabia follows the strictest form of sharia law which prohibits Jews from being citizens. Iran is supplying Hezbollah operatives with weapons so they can attack Israelis and Jews in Europe.
So, what ideology do these students bring with them? Do they gravitate more to student groups like the MSA, SJP and the Middle Eastern Students Association? Homegrown in Waverly, Tennessee, Samar Ali co-founded the Middle Eastern Students Association at Vanderbilt because as she said, “I will always be Arab and I will always be American and I will always be Muslim….My parents always taught us to never forget where we came from and to never forget where we are now.”
What will be Vanderbilt’s response?
SJP’s co-founder, Hatem Bazian came as a college student to the U.S. from the Hamas stronghold of Nablus in the West Bank. He brought his Islamic Jew-hatred with him and created the SJP campus hate group. Across U.S. campuses, SJP’s chapters activities and actions, along with the group’s DNA as pictured below, make the group ineligible for chartering as a campus student organization.
Equally relevant for Vanderbilt and every campus that has an SJP chapter is whether a group tied to HAMAS, a U.S. designated terrorist organization, can be chartered under any school’s rules for student organizations. Can public money be allowed to flow to these groups? Should private money be permitted to enable these groups?
In true leftist-progressive fashion, Vanderbilt made Christian campus groups unwelcome by enforcing the zero tolerance all-comers’ policy. If Vanderbilt enables SJP on its campus, will Jews at Vanderbilt be the next group to have to leave?
After the Holy Land Foundation prosecution, the FBI severed its relationship with CAIR because of its associations with the HAMAS-support network. But some FBI field offices violated the restrictions.
In 2011, a continuing funding resolution signed by Obama included language that barred the FBI from partnering with unindicted co-conspirators like CAIR. Two years later, the DOJ Inspector General released a report documenting how the FBI violated the Congressional ban by working with CAIR.
Regardless of the FBI’s efforts, CAIR directors work to undermine law enforcement. Michigan’s Dawud Walid tells his listeners not to cooperate with the FBI because they are “agent provocateurs” that target Muslims.” Walid was brought to Tennessee by ACO’s director to train Muslim high school students in political activism.
On a broader scale, the Islamist organizations are working to sanitize law enforcement training materials by withholding pertinent information and thus, effectively neutering our national security agencies.
In 2013 Judicial Watch issued its detailed report about the purge of counterterrorism training materials used by different federal agencies. The identities of who decided which materials were offensive and needed to be removed, is unknown; 876 pages and 392 presentations were purged.
Kenneth Moore, the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Knoxville Office, signed the FBI memo detailing the information purged from the FBI training programs. Moore spoke at the Tennessee AMAC (American Muslim Advisory Council) event jn Manchester where Tennesseans were told what they could and could not say about Islam and Muslims.
In August 2014, Tennessee’s Muslim ACO (American Center for Outreach) along with CAIR and other Muslim Brotherhood affiliate organizations, signed onto another letter demanding more purging of materials and retraining of personnel across government agencies.
Tennessee’s lead law enforcers work to appease Islamists
In 2009 James Cotter a TNDHS Regional Advisor said with regard to foreign threats, “anything that they do over there can happen here and will.”
Two short years later, Tennessee’s Islamists received a congratulatory letter from Bill Gibbons, TN Commissioner of Safety and Homeland Security, Cotter was promoted for helping AMAC to organize and AMAC members were included in department trainings. So, there is no reason to believe that Tennessee’s law enforcement personnel are receiving complete and fact based training about Islamist activity in the state.
The Muslim Brotherhood Plan specifically addressed subversion of the media. Tennessee’s Islamists are working aggressively to subvert any media effort to objectively and truthfully report about the Islamist agenda in our state. ACO’s director Paul “Iesa” Galloway’s background is in PR & media. AMAC board member Sabina Mohyuddin supports Muslim Brotherhood organizations. They recently brought the Muslim Brotherhood’s media influence operation to the desk of The Tennessean editorial board.
What should informed citizens do?
Continue to educate yourself and those around you. Our state and federal government will allow the subversion to continue until leaders with eyes wide open choose a different course. But informed citizens do not have to wait. Anyone willing to use factual and objective information can take steps now to counter the propaganda and media influence that is underway.
Right now Tennessee needs focused efforts to expose Muslim Brotherhood affiliates, ideologues and their fellow travelers operating in Tennessee, with particular attention paid to CAIR and those that promote its work in our state.
Suggested action steps using civil and factual information:
- write well reasoned, factual based letters to the editor of your local paper exposing CAIR for its ties to HAMAS and its presence and ties to Tennessee’s Muslim Brotherhood
- request that your local reporters ask hard questions. For example, what does it mean that Jamal Badawi was listed in the Muslim Brotherhood phone directory or that no Islamist organization has ever denied the authenticity of the Muslim Brotherhood plan? What about CAIR’s director’s statement that he supports HAMAS?
- The Tennessean paper lists Tom Wilemon, as an investigative reporter. He just attended a national training conference put on by Investigative Reporters and Editors, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of investigative reporting. The Tennessean claims “watchdog reporting” is a high priority for them and “serves the greater Nashville community is by doing impactful investigative journalism.” Contact Tom Wilemon – email@example.com.
- expose CAIR operatives like Paul “Iesa” Galloway
- make sure your state legislators know how the director of ACO is tied to CAIR and who and what CAIR is
- dominate the comments section on any relevant articles in your local paper, blog and facebook posts
- educate your neighbors; have a movie night and show movies like “The Grand Deception” and “Losing Our Sons”
- share information with your local sheriff’s office
