The Red-Green Alliance goes after the South

Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) understood the value of penetrating the traditionally conservative political South, especially, religious organizations in the Bible Belt’s buckle of Middle Tennessee. Once IAF connected with religious communities in Nashville that were starting to drift left, they were able to access people and money and launch TNT (Tying Nashville Together).

As documented in The Newer Deal: Social Work and Religion in Partnership, [a]t all TNT activities, members pray together and emphasize that their raison d’etre is to fulfill their religious calling.” Meaning, TNT members demand that the government perform the charitable work otherwise demanded by TNT members’ religious doctrines.

TNT was short-lived. After the failure of TNT, remaining members moved on to groups like Gamliel and NOAH in Tennessee.

While the professional left was doing its work to transform religious communities, the Islamists were busy transforming the ACLU.

The ACLU abets the Muslim Brotherhood agenda

A 2012 Investors Business Daily editorial questions the Islamization of the ACLU, a change reflected in the cases and positions advocated (or not) by the ACLU. The change has brought deeper ties with Muslim Brotherhood groups like unindicted co-conspirator organization CAIR.

This may be why in 2010 the ACLU remained silent at the capitulation of the media and law enforcement when cartoonist Molly Norris was forced into hiding after proposing “everybody draw Mohammed day.” Norris received no protection from law enforcement and no objection was made by the ACLU.

In stark contrast, however, the ACLU did file a suit on behalf of the father of al-Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki, objecting to the government issuing a kill order for him.

The ACLU has publicly defended ICNA’s charitable fundraising despite ICNA’s Muslim Brotherhood ties, its questionable donations to organizations connected to HAMAS, and it leadership’s support for other Islamic charities our government has shut down because they fund terrorism.

Just like Alinsky’s IAF, the Muslim Brotherhood’s ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America) also has a Southern strategy. Starting with the Southern Islamic Convention designed to reinforce ideas like global sharia law, using materials that promote hatred of Jews and Christians and dawa (Islamic proselytizing) in U.S. public schools.

ICNA Southern convention

ICNA is well entrenched in Tennessee. Rafiq Mahdi, ICNA Director of Outreach for Southern Region for their charity arm, ICNA Relief USA, lives in Knoxville. He also serves as the “unofficial imam” of the Knoxville Muslim community.

If the ACLU didnt have double standards, theyd have no standards at all

In Tennessee, Hedy Weinberg uses her ACLU office to abet the Islamist agenda.

One stunning example of Weinberg’s support for all things Islamist and her own hypocrisy, is her lawsuit against the Sumner County school district.

In 2011 ACLU-TN filed a suit against the school district because of alleged promotion of Christian beliefs to students by school personnel. A settlement agreement was reached that prohibited school officials from promoting their personal religious beliefs to students, prohibited the display of “religious symbols and items…in a place publicly visible to students,” and “…the schools can no longer take field trips to religious sites.”

Two years later, a high school located in Sumner County, in direct violation of the ACLU settlement agreement, took a group of freshman on a field trip to a mosque where they listened to readings from the Quran and a were given copies.

There is no public record indicating that the ACLU objected to this Sumner County school violating the settlement agreement. Why?

Are churches waking up?

Real Catholic TV has posted a video “CCHD and Saul Alinsky,” exposing the infiltration by Alinsky’s IAF and the fact that it does not align with Catholic doctrine, despite continued funding from the CCHD (Catholic Campaign for Human Development.)

Albuquerque Interfaith, an IAF affiliate has been exposed for trying to disguise its leftist agenda as being consistent with “decades of Catholic social justice teaching and authentic Catholic action.” For example, the report details:

  • how Alinsky principles are not ethical while “Authentic Catholic Action” (ACA), is always ethical
  • how Albuquerque Interfaith is tied to an IAF group Call to Action which opposes the church’s teachings
  • how Alinsky organizing promotes liberation theology which is not consistent with either ACA or the church’s teachings
  • that Marxist ideas of class warfare are likewise not consistent with ACA which “promotes cooperation and respect among all members of society.”
  • Alinskyian organizing replaces the mandate to serve the poor with government programs that often harm the poor.

Leftist media helps out where they can

This year, leftist media The Los Angeles Times, named Muslim Brotherhood’s CAIR director Nihad Awad, one of the nation’s “new civil rights leaders.” Awad has publicly voiced his support for the U.S. designated terrorist organization, HAMAS, the jihadi arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.

CAIR, a named unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing prosecution, is also a designated terrorist organization in the UAE.

The Tennessean “reporter” Bob Smietana set the strategy for the newspaper by silencing any criticism of Islam. The newest editor, David Plazas carries water for the Islamists by promoting CAIR director Paul “Iesa” Galloway who now runs the Muslim American Center for Outreach (ACO).

ACO and Tennessean

What can you do?

  • find out whether your congregation was a TNT member. Do they still profess to the socialist goals? Educate your friends about where this leads
  • if you belong to a Catholic church, share the report about the Albuquerque interfaith group that exposes how Alinsky’s IAF partners don’t adhere to authentic church doctrine
  • all churches want money – your money. But if your church is going to the red-green alliance, consider withholding your tithe to the church and instead, direct your tithe to a more worthy charity
  • work to wake up your fellow congregants and your pastors and explain why leftist organizations undermine personal responsibility for our fellow man
  • spread the word to expose the ACLU for the hypocritical and destructive organization it is.

Newsletter #180 – Tennessee ACLU: The Left’s Biggest Hypocrite (part 4 of 5)

In 1971, Saul Alinsky published Rules for Radicals “for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be,” and teach the Have-Nots how to take the power away from those that have it.

Alinsky described himself as an agnostic; other sources describe him as a nihilist. Either way, for Alinsky, morality and/or ethical behavior was whatever anyone believed. He wrote that “truth is relative,” a convenient way to divorce “truth” from facts.

The Nashville projects

ACLU’s Hedy Weinberg serves as an advisor to the TN Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC). In 2007, the Highlander School (an ally organization of the ACLU), started its Justice School for TIRRC, providing “nuts and bolts training on organizing and leadership skills.”

Weinberg was also a founding member of the Nashville For All of Us campaign which started in late 2008 to oppose a Metro Councilman’s “English First” proposal. In 2007, Eric Crafton proposed that with limited exceptions, the city government conduct business only in English. It passed the Metro council but was vetoed by then Mayor Bill Purcell.

Following Alinsky’s rule #10, which says that “the public sympathizes with the underdog,” Weinberg found a community she could market as unjustly marginalized by the government.

Using the Highlander’s training techniques, TIRRC worked against Crafton’s proposal which was defeated in a 2009 special election by a 56 – 44% vote.

Nashville Next is a long-range plan to guide Nashville and Davidson County’s development from 2015 through 2040. The plan was developed through a community-driven process emphasizing the inclusion of groups considered to be under-represented in civic processes. So, advocates from TIRRC representing legal and illegal immigrants, the American Center for Outreach (ACO) representing Islamists, and the political director for the Tennessee Democratic Party heavily influenced the plan.

The 2013 Partnering for an Equitable and Inclusive Nashville(Partnering Report), written by Hedy’s husband, Dan Cornfield, is the Nashville for All of Us Steering Committee report. Representatives from the civil rights (like the ACLU), disabled, immigrant and refugee rights, LGBT and Muslim communities had an expanded opportunity to influence the long-range plan for Nashville.

This moral highground claimed by the inclusive and “Nashville-for-all-of-us” proponents excludes anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

The Partnering Report describes Nashville as enlightened and focused on inclusion and “creative strides toward equity and inclusivity,” achievements credited to leftist hypocrites like Remziya Suleyman who started the Muslim American Center for Outreach (ACO) which the ACLU promotes. Weinberg’s daughter, Hannah Cornfield, worked for Suleyman’s organization.

weinbergsuleyman copy

Also, in the Partnering Report, Suleyman describes how Muslims in Tennessee have been victims of Islamophobia. She perpetuates the falsehood that the state tried to restrict Muslims’ right to practice sharia law even while Mayor Dean showcases the flourishing sharia enclaves in Nashville.

What isn’t reported, is that Suleyman revealed before the report was issued, that “she never knew the concept of sharia.” Nor does she admit that the state law she falsely claims to have defeated, only criminalized terrorist’s acts; she was the one who equated the practice of sharia law, to terrorism. The law specifically excluded the “peaceful” practice of religion.

In the “means and ends” rule, Alinsksy wrote “[t]he most unethical of all means is the non-use of any means,” which easily aligns with the Islamic doctrine of taqiyya (permissible lying.) Leftists justify their deceit based on ends and means; Islamists simply use Quaranic doctrine.

The willful hypocrisy in the Partnering Report and the ACLU’s promotion of the Islamist organizations, is simply stunning. The Partnering Report emphasizes inclusivity. It highlights Nashville’s promotion of the LGBT community and cites as an example, that Metro Nashville was the first Tennessee city to prohibit gender or sexual orientation discrimination by the city government.

At the same time, that Weinberg gave Suleyman the ACLU’s “Bill of Rights” award, her friend Suleyman and her allies were publicly mocking the agenda of homosexuals who according to sharia law can be murdered.

A month after Suleyman tweeted out this picture, her board member, Kasar Abdullah, was invited to speak at Hedy’s high school Student Rights Conference. Kasar’s sister Jihan is pictured above.

Internationally popular Memphis Imam Yasir Qadhi who helped Suleyman launch ACO, wrote that a homosexual act is a major sin against Allah. Even worse he says, is to support something like gay marriage, because that would be “kufr” – a sin so grave that you go to hell.

Of course the hypocrisy runs both ways since Islamists support the ACLU even though the ACLU promotes pre-marital sex, abortion, and gay marriage. CAIR-Michigan director sums up the political agenda this way:

dawud on gays

The Partnering Report calls for a “mandate to ensure that all Nashvillians share equally in and have access to the benefits of its growth…” but without any requirement of individual initiative or effort. The report proposes creating a Public-Private Partnership whose mission is to “sustain and elevate Nashville as an exemplary open, just and inclusive community….” The Partnership plans to create internships to indoctrinate the next generation.

Alinsky wanted these same outcomes. His vision included the “People’s Organizations,” groups of radicals, led by one of their own members, but with an Alinsky- trained, professional organizer always controlling the leadership. Together, they would incite class warfare. The mass movement would ultimately transfer power from the “haves” so “the people” construct an ideal society.

In his book Master of Deceit, J.Edgar Hoover said that Alinsky’s use of the front man strategy was like what the Communist Party used as a way to achieve their objectives.

In the red-green alliance, the radical leftists abet Islamists to deconstruct the system of laws that even protects “useful leftist idiots.” It’s hard to know who is really using who.

Newsletter #178 – Tennessee ACLU: the Left’s Biggest Hypocrite (part 3 of 5)

The child of communist sympathizers comes to Nashville

Hedy Weinberg has served as the Executive Director of the TN-ACLU since 1984. She came to Nashville from her native Chicago with her husband Dan Cornfield, a sociology professor at Vanderbilt University.

Hedy’s father, Arthur Weinberg, was a Chicago historian and author. His obituary says that he served as president of the socialist Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) organization.[1] Also known as the “Wobblies,” the IWW was a radical labor union started in Chicago in the early 1900’s dedicated to opposing capitalism (which may explain why members migrated to the Communist party once the Wobblies’ influence started to decline). ACLU founding member and Executive Director, Roger Baldwin was also a member of the Wobblies.

Arthur Weinberg, who described himself as a “philosophical anarchist,” allied with Emma Goldman, a central figure in the global anarchist movement. He attended Goldman’s funeral and afterwards, reported details of the event for the “Project,” an initiative to collect, catalogue and publish her writings.

Hedy’s mother, Lila Weinberg, also knew Goldman and claimed she knew Goldman’s lover, Ben Reitman, “better than his daughters did.”

When you look at Hedy Weinberg’s genealogy, the ACLU is a natural fit for her. But

Weinberg profiles more like the establishment whose values and morality she so loudly claims to oppose.

Never one to avoid hypocrisy, Weinberg moralizes comfortably from an expensive Green Hills neighborhood, in a $400,000 plus home located a short ride from the expensive private school her daughter attended. Her daughter also attended an expensive private college.

Hedy is a member of The Temple, a Jewish congregation in Nashville that takes its “politics as religion” seriously, both as a leading TNT congregation and as a supporter of the red-green alliance. In a show of his leftist bona fides, senior rabbi, Mark Schiftan employed as his personal secretary Kathleen Smietana, wife of former Tennessean reporter and Islamist apologist Bob Smietana. Then, aping the freedom bus riders, the rabbi took his congregation to the Muslim Brotherhood Islamic Center of Murfreesboro.

Likewise predictable and equally pathetic, Hedy has molded her only child into a mini-me. Hannah Cornfield’s resume includes working as an Obama field organizer, tweeting out support for the virulently anti-Israel Jewish Voice for Peace and the more typical elitist white socialist anti-capitalist messages.hannah c jvp

Yes Hannah, the same capitalist structure that enabled your parents to send you to an expensive private school and expensive private college.

Hedy teaches community organizing and focuses her efforts on high school students who even have their own youth activist handbook. Her husband, Dan Cornfield, a Vanderbilt University teacher, leads workshops like “Becoming a Change Agent,” at the Highlander Center for Research & Education, for college age students.

“He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.”

Adolf Hitler

The Highlander Center

In 1932, Myles Horton, co-founded and served as director of the Highlander Folk School. First located in Monteagle, Tennessee the school was shut down by the state. The school was renamed the Highlander Research and Education Center, moved to Knoxville and in 1971 made one last move to New Market, Tennessee where it is located today. The school’s founders modeled Highlander after socialist training centers they visited in Denmark.

Horton believed that the Appalachian poor were being taken advantage of by the wealthy capitalist elites. Anti-capitalism and Horton’s experience helping labor to unionize and strike, expanded his ideas about “social justice” and his desire to create radical activists who would change the social, economic and political order of the South.

Highlander has worked to imbed socialist ideology and a resistance-to-the-status-quo in the most impressionable and accessible participants – the college-age young adult who Alinsky claimed only wanted to reject the middle-class lifestyle their parents had worked to achieve and which supported the comfortable lifestyles and college tuitions of these young Alinsky radicals. These were the change-agents-in-waiting that Alinsky said were looking for “a way of life that has some meaning or sense.”

Transforming Nashville in their image?

Hedy and her husband are recognized supporters of Highlander and have relied on the same tactics taught there in helping to launch “Nashville For All of Us” and “Nashville Next” discussed in part 4. They promote these community-based organizing projects that promise to bring social salvation to all after the existing power base is destroyed and the economic and social relationships are re-ordered.

Alinsky wrote in Rules for Radicals, that “[t]he organizer is in a true sense reaching for the highest level for which man can reach – to create, to be a ‘great creator,’ to play God.”

Newsletter #175 – Tennessee ACLU: The Left’s Biggest Hypocrite (part 2 of 5)

Leftist organizing starts in Nashville

In 1996, a Vanderbilt Ph.D candidate documented how the radical socialist Saul Alinsky style of community organizing started in Nashville. In 1989, an interfaith group called The Nashville Sponsoring Committee (NSC) contracted with the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) to train the them in community organizing.

The groups financially supporting the NSC included the Catholic Archdiocese of Nashville, the Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church, USA, the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee and the Jewish Fund for Justice.

IAF was founded in 1940 by Chicago socialist and political radical Saul Alinsky, a “Communist/Marxist fellow-traveler.” Alinsky started the IAF’s training institute in 1969. It was designed as a “school for professional radicals” that sought redistribution of wealth and communist centralized government control:

“The Alinsky radical has one principle — to take power from the so-called Haves and give it to the so-called Have-nots… a destructive assault on the established order in the name of the ‘people,’ which delivers power (and wealth) into the hands of a radical elite and makes them feel good about themselves in the process.”

IAF is not grassroots organizing; it is a tool of the professional left. It is the Alinsky-radical- trained professional organizer who sets the local group’s agenda and then uses techniques specifically designed to manipulate the group into rejecting the status quo and demanding “change” (revolution).

Early on, IAF was funded by wealthy elites and Catholic institutions. Between 1992 – 1997, IAF received approximately $6,466,500 from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).

IAF’s expansion into the South, and specifically into religious organizations, was strategic. The NSC and IAF served each other’s purposes; IAF would help the local group organize (Nashville), and the religiously identified NSC would provide a veneer of moral credibility for IAF’s revolutionary campaigns for social change, political power grabbing and undermining the middle class traditional order.

In 1993 the NSC paid IAF’s Southeast Regional Director Gerald Taylor $50,000 for professional community organizing services and to help the NSC mutate into the organization Tying Nashville Together (TNT).

Gerald Taylor

Gerald Taylor

Religious groups that invested their financial and human resources in TNT, aligned themselves with Alinsky’s tactics and adopted leftist politics as their first religion of choice. Aligning with Alinsky was an ironic choice for these religious communities considering that Alinsky dedicated his playbook Rules for Radicals, to Lucifer, citing him as the first true radical to have “rebelled against the establishment…”

Alinsky said that there were no hard and fast truths, no moral or ethical considerations that should guide a group’s demands or what they would do to achieve their goals. In Rules for Radicals Alinsky wrote that:

“The third rule of ethics of means and ends is that in war the end justifies almost any means.

Alinsky counseled that “revolution” came by change from within. His strategy was to infiltrate churches, political parties, unions and other structural institutions,  work into positions of authority and decision-making and introduce change from within.

Did the authors of the 1991 Muslim Brotherhood manifesto read Alinsky too?

Newsletter #174 – Tennessee ACLU: The Left’s Biggest Hypocrite (part 1 of 5)

“The Bill of Rights contains no grant of privilege for a group of people to destroy the Bill of Rights.”                           Eisenhower on Communism, October 1952.

The TN ACLU would like you to believe that it fights equally for everyone’s religious freedoms, civil liberties and Constitutional rights. It doesn’t.

The ACLU would like you to believe that it’s work promotes the ideals of democracy and social justice. It doesn’t do that either.

The ACLU would like you to believe that it is nonpartisan and advocates for individual rights. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

The ACLU’s work is about moving its socialist and communist DNA into the mainstream. It’s about the red-green alliance (the professional leftists and the Islamists), sharing a mutual goal of undermining the Judeo-Christian foundation of Western civilization. It’s about rejecting the individual initiative that drives capitalism in favor of collectivist redistribution of resources. It’s about partnering with groups willing to abuse and disassemble our Constitutional liberties to advance the leftist agenda. It’s about disenfranchising “the Establishment.”

It’s about socially advantaged elites showing solidarity with the “underprivileged” – that is, until they retire at the end of the day and drive their pricey hybrid cars to their children’s private school, then on to their expensive homes in privileged neighborhoods.

Socialists + Communists = ACLU

The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), was co-founded by Norman Thomas, William Foster and Roger Baldwin. These fathers of the new left, defining themselves as the “counterculture,” came to power in the 1960’s.

These men from Chicago came out of the Midwest labor movement – they were the progressives. They wanted to help the oppressed workers raise economic standards and working conditions.

3ACLU copy

Norman Thomas, a Presbyterian minister, was a six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. He said,

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened.”

William Foster, a Marxist, was the National Chairman of the Communist Party USA from 1945 to 1957. He said,

“The establishment of an American Soviet government will involve the confiscation of large landed estates in town and country, and also, the whole body of forests, mineral deposits, lakes, rivers and so on.”

Roger Baldwin was an admirer of Stalin’s government. He said:

“I joined. I don’t regret being a part of the Communist tactic, which increased the effectiveness of a good cause. I knew what I was doing. I was not an innocent liberal. I wanted what the Communists wanted.”

Baldwin accepted dictatorship and suppression of rights were necessary to achieve socialism.

These men formed an organization intended to destroy our country, and created an Orewellian vocabulary to subvert mainstream American thought.

“Multiculturalism,” “human rights,” “tolerance” and “social justice” is the jargon of the ACLU’s leftist ideology. They fuel their moral narcissism on the backs of the underdog and use minority rights as an excuse to substitute a socialist solution which has been proven time and time again that it doesn’t work. The ideology is a master-slave relationship to keep the minority disenfranchised and emphasizes materialism as the answer to all our problems.

The ACLU and their fellow Alinsky travelers (discussed in later parts), have perfected the art of liberal bullying along with a proficiency in name-calling, propaganda and fact distortion to achieve their ultimate Communist goals.

Newsletter #122 – Raising a Capitalism-Benefitting Socialist in Nashville Who Also Hates Israel

If you are a young adult Jew, like Hannah Cornfield, daughter of TN-ACLU Director Hedy Weinberg, you augment your socialist-progressive credentials by promoting the anti-Israel Jewish Voice for Peace and support BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) against the State of Israel.

Grow up in the expensive Green Hills neighborhood. Attend an expensive private high school (2013 high school tuition $20,000 plus books). Graduate from an expensive private college. Protest the evils of capitalism. Serve as a Field Organizer with Obama’s Organizing for America. Use connections in D.C. to learn how to undermine voting integrity.

How else can you expect to understand what it’s like for the disenfranchised? Be sure not to disavow the unfair advantage of “white privilege” until after graduation. Then assuage your guilt by attacking capitalism and the very system that provided for you.

Jewish Voice For Peace (JVP), an extreme leftist group is ranked by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) among the top 10 “worst of the worst anti-Israel groups.” American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), are on the same list.

ADL characterizes groups likes JVP as “fixated with delegitimizing Israel” using campaigns like BDS.

BDS is the pro-Palestinian campaign that followed the 2000 intifada. The goal of BDS is to end Israel as a Jewish state. Period. The goal of BDS, is not peace. Its not justice. Its not democracy. The goal of BDS is to end the existence of the State of Israel.

JVP has been described as a “Jewish Voice for Hamas” because it advocates dialogue with Hamas and promotes what JVP believes are the “positive” aspects of Hamas despite the fact that Hamas’ charter calls for the destruction of Israel. Unless of course that is what draws JVP to Hamas?

hannah twitter 1

Hannah might be surprised to learn that Hisham Sharabi, supporter of “radical Palestinian terror groups,” and founder of the Jerusalem Fund, understood how gullible progressive Jews are. He predicted that the intifada followed by a BDS campaign would be supported by “progressive Jewish forces in Israel and the United States….[any group] enlisted in the ‘progressive’ cause of the Palestinian Arabs – why not, anyone ‘progressive’ enough to embrace Hamas…is someone useful to Israel’s enemies.”

Cornfield is just the kind of Jew Sharabi liked. But maybe it’s Cornfield’s socialist morality that makes her support the Israel-hating JVP. After all, Israel could have been a socialist’s dream except for its successful capitalists.

It’s not the first time Jews were complicit with their demonizers. Judenrats in Germany didn’t legitimize Hitler any more than JVP legitimizes the goals of BDS.

The milieu of Cornfield’s genealogy (which will examined in later newsletters), is steeped in Marxist/Communist/Leftist/Socialist associations and alliances. Hannah Cornfield is merely a product of these familial influences. But Cornfield also reflects the newer version of the red-green alliance between the socialist progressives (reds) and the Islamists (greens), which share the goal of destroying America and western civilization as we know it.
