Rabbi Mark Schiftan, senior rabbi at The Temple in Nashville is preparing to take his congregants on a bus ride to the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro (ICM) on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He has dubbed this ride “A Sacred Journey of Understanding.” He claims to ride in support of First Amendment freedoms of worship and assembly.
Well Rabbi, we hate to burst your bubble, but you are no Freedom Rider. The bus riders of the late 50’s and early 60’s went armed with facts and the truth about what was happening to blacks in America. Your intended destination, the ICM does not stand for freedom and liberty as the West understands these concepts. In fact, as we have recently disclosed here and here, leadership at the mosque, pre – and post – construction, are aligned with those whose end goal is sharia for all. The Muslim Brotherhood uses the catchy phrase “civilization jihad” to describe their vision.
Imam Bahloul at the ICM is a graduate of Al Azhar University in Egypt with a degree in Da’awah (prosletyzing for Islam). His thesis was the establishment of a Da’awah curriculum aimed at secularists, atheists, Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Al Azhar is credited with starting the Islamist movement with training from Islamic radicals. It is closely tied to the Muslim Brotherhood and stands for the propagation of Islam and sharia as a complete way of life. Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader who has been banned from the U.S. and the U.K., Yousef Al-Qaradawi, famously declared that:
“Conquest through Da’wa [proselytizing], that is what we hope for. We will conquer Europe, we will conquer America! Not through sword but through Da’wa.”
Walking in lock-step with Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood) leadership, Imam Bahloul is hosting Muslim Brotherhood leader Jamal Badawi on November 3rd.
Rabbi Schiftan, given your support for the Islamist movement in Tennessee, we thought you might like to phone Badawi in advance of his trip here and arrange to have a private visit over coffee. Badawi’s phone number was included in the Muslim Brotherhood’s phone directory that was introduced during the federal terrorism financing prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation:
Hamed Ghazali’s number is there as well so feel free to include him. After all, you are all Family of Abraham.
So Rabbi, as you prepare for your trip, take some facts along with your moral elitism. At least the facts have some basis in reality.
Jamal Badawi is referred to by name on page 12 of the 1991 Muslim Brotherhood General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America. Jamal Badawi is part of that “group”:
“We have a seed for a ‘comprehensive Dawa’ educational’ organization: We have the Daw’a section in ISNA + Dr. Jamal Badawi Foundation + the center run by brother Hamed al-Ghazali…”
“The big challenge that is ahead of us is how to turn these seeds or ‘scattered’ elements into comprehensive stable, ‘settled’ organizations that are connected with our Movement and which fly in our orbit and take orders from our guidance. This does not prevent – but calls for – each central organization to have its local branches but its connection with the Islamic center in the city is a must.”
Hamed al-Ghazali was hired by Pleasant View School – the Islamic school in Memphis as “the new consultant for PVS Islamic Studies, Quaran & Arabic. He also serves as Chairman of MAS [Muslim American Society] Council of Islamic Schools (MASCIS) and as a superintendent/consultant for several Islamic schools in the USA.
All the better to advance the Muslim Brotherhood’s ideology and goal of turning the U.S. into a Muslim nation ruled by sharia law.
This document was discovered during an FBI search of the home of one of the founders of a Virginia mosque. The document was subsequently introduced into evidence during the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing prosecution.
This is the Muslim Brotherhood’s plan to “settle” Islam in North America or in their words, commit a “civilization jihad.”
This is the same Muslim Brotherhood that was banned in Egypt, reemerged with Mohammed Morsi’s election and quickly moved to bring Egypt under the rule of sharia. That is, make Egypt the Islamic state envisioned by the Muslim Brotherhood’s founder Hassan al-Banna.
The challenges and timeline in the U.S. may be different, but the Muslim Brotherhood’s endgame here is the same. Read the plan – it is all there and it is well underway here.
The connections have been made with the Islamic Center of Nashville, The Islamic Center of Tennessee, the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro and the mosques and school in Memphis. The Nashville Jewish and Christian leadership are doing all they can to settle the Muslim Brotherhood even deeper in Tennessee.
These leaders have lost their moral compasses.
The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro (ICM), like mosques in other cities, is finally being honest about its allegiance to the Muslim Brotherhood.
This allegiance was the concern of mosque opponents all along. Earlier on, the clues were more subtle, with brochures printed by Muslim Brotherhood off-shoot ISNA and a board member’s facebook page extolling the virtues of Hamas. Then the ICM hired an Egyptian native and Al-Azhar graduate, Imam Bahloul.
With the support and cover provided by Middle Tennessee Jews and Christians, it looks as if Imam Bahloul no longer needs to conceal the true identity and doctrinal allegiance of the mosque. Nihad Awad, public supporter of Hamas and executive director of CAIR, (another Muslim Brotherhood off-shoot with proven ties to Hamas), attended the ICM’s opening.
On November 3, 2013, the ICM is hosting a program called “God’s Books.” Panelist Jamal Badawi is listed as a member of ISNA (another Muslim Brotherhood unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing prosecution). Born and raised in Egypt, Badawi’s resume also includes:
- Member of the Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) – along with Al-Ahzar University in Cairo, the preeminent teaching center of sharia law, the FCNA authenticated the English translation of the “Reliance of the Traveller, the Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law.” Read more in Newsletter #86 about what this book says and about FCNA members that have been arrested, deported and named as unindicted co-conspirators in connection with terrorist activities.
- Board member of CAIR
- Founding incorporator of the Muslim American Society (MAS) – In 2012, convicted terrorist Abdurrahman Alamoudi told federal investigators that “[e]veryone knows that MAS [Muslim American Society] is the Muslim Brotherhood.”
- Member of European Council for Fatwa and Research, an organization headed by Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas spiritual leader, Yousef Al-Qaradawi (Qaradawi has many “credits” to his name including heading up the Hamas created Union of Good charities which was designated by the U.S. Treasury in 2008 for terrorism financing). Qaradawi has been banned from the U.S. since 1999 and from the United Kingdom since 2008 because of his support for suicide bombings against Israel and attacks against American troops in Iraq.
- Named individually as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing prosecution.
In another terrorism trial federal prosecutors said that the Muslim American Society had been “founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States”. Badawi was one of the three founders of MAS and is listed on the group’s articles of incorporation.
More on Badawi’s terrorist, Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas associations reported here.
Anyone attending the November ICM event should ask Badawi about his religious rulings on wife-beating (it’s OK as long as it’s never on the face) or his justification for executing Muslim apostates (when it’s considered treason against the Islamic state).
Mark Schiftan, head Rabbi of The Temple in Nashville is taking busloads of his congregants to visit the ICM next week. Given his interest in supporting the Muslim Brotherhood presence in Nashville and the political activism of the Islamists, he might be interested in attending the November program.
Or maybe if he read and studied what was in “God’s Books,” he might reconsider his course of action.
The ad for the upcoming “Stronger Together” program lists respected, long-standing Nashville private schools Harding Academy and Montgomery Bell Academy as publicity partners. Montgomery Bell is also hosting the event on its campus.
The Jewish Federation’s Community Relations Council (CRC) is the event organizer. Newsletter #92 questioned whether the CRC’s director, Abbie Wolf was aware of panelist Remziya Suleyman’s close association with and activism on behalf of, the Muslim Brotherhood’s off-shoot CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations ) and its ties to Hamas.
If Ms. Wolf wasn’t aware of Suleyman’s ties to CAIR, someone needs to let her know. Or at least tell her about the Brotherhood motto:
“Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Quran is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”
However, Wolf’s boss, Mark Freedman, Executive Director of the Nashville Jewish Federation probably does know Suleyman. Turns out they were in the same Leadership Nashville class last year so they probably had more than a passing acquaintance.
So, was concealing Suleyman’s “other” activities deliberate or accidental? Either way, original source documentation shows her close association with and promotion of Hamas tied CAIR.
This issue aside, it is surprising that Nashville’s elite private schools are allowing the Jewish Federation’s CRC to draw them into a very messy politically – driven agenda with ties to terrorism. Are these schools aware that the CRC is implementing a resolution to reach out specifically to Islamist organizations?
It was reported that the resolution was inspired by leadership of the Union for Reform Judaism who chose to buddy up with another Muslim Brotherhood off-shoot, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).
ISNA is listed in the 1991 Muslim Brotherhood strategic plan for North America and was also a named unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror financing prosecution.
In Nashville, the Federation’s CRC members are at the helm of the Family of Abraham events, having hosted ISNA’s Muslim Brotherhood member Sayeed Sayyid. So the Federation is busy building bridges with the Muslim Brotherhood while other Political Islamists in Nashville are hosting speakers like Dawud Walid, Sirraj Wahhaj and Zaid Shakir who remind the Muslim youth of the supremacy of Islam.
Zaid Shakir says: “If Islam is the basis, the kafir [non-believer] won’t be equal with the Muslim. The Christian or the Jew will be a dhimmi [second-class citizen]. They won’t be equal with the Muslim.”
Dawud Walid says: “Who incurred the wrath of Allah? They are the Jews. They are the Jews.”
Sirraj Wahhaj says: “Islam is better than democracy.”
Remziya Suleyman: thumbs up to Nation of Islam:
Do Nashville’s most reputable and exclusive private schools want to stand and partner with Muslim Brotherhood terrorist groups? And be “Stronger” with them? Have they been duped into this event, and if so, why? And why do the Federation and various Christian sects want to align themselves with and serve an Islamist master who deems them apes and pigs behind their backs?
What is going on in Nashville?
A rabbi of what is reputed to be the largest reform Jewish congregation trips over himself to buddy up to the imam and the Murfreesboro mosque. Now Metro Nashville public schools, some of the city’s elite private schools (certainly the most expensive), and ALL of the Jewish congregations and Jewish organizations are promoting a program called “Stronger Together.”
If you check out the panel, the not so subtle message is ‘all of us minorities together against the big bad Christian majority.’ (This has that “special” Hedy Weinberg director of the TN-ACLU mark on it.)
The announcement says that the Jewish Federation’s Community Relations Council (CRC) has organized this event. Presumably, they also picked the panelists, including the American Center for Outreach (ACO) director, Remziya Suleyman. This should come as no surprise since it looks like the CRC has been collaborating with anti-American leftists including the TN-ACLU on other projects.
The JCRC’s current chairman is Nashville lawyer, Mr. Irwin Venick. The immediate past chairman is Mr. Avi Poster who is pictured and heavily involved with the CRC’s immigration coalition and the Family of Abraham events. Former JCRC chairman Avi Poster has been a member of the TN Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition Board of Directors since at least 2009.
Irwin Venick, a member of the The Temple, whose members will soon be visiting the Murfreesboro mosque, was part of the host committee of the first Family of Abraham event in Nashville. So it should come as no surprise that the CRC and its associated activities have taken up promoting both Ms. Suleyman and the Islamist cause in Tennessee.
There has been plenty documented (and easily found on the internet), about Ms. Suleyman’s relationship with CAIR – here, here, and here (video) but that doesn’t seem to be an obstacle for the Jewish Federation. CAIR is a branch of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood. Not only was CAIR named an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing prosecution in the U.S., but CAIR’s ties to Hamas were confirmed a second time in 2009 when CAIR tried to have its unindicted co-conspirator status removed. Federal Judge Solis stated unequivocally, that there was “ample evidence” tying CAIR to Hamas.
An interesting aside. The video in the link above includes a picture of Ms. Suleyman and her friend Linda Sarsour at CAIR’s national 2012 banquet. Ms. Sarsour, CAIR’s 2013 American Muslim of the Year can also take credit for tweeting that “[n]othing is creepier than Zionism.” Read more about her here.
If you spend just a little more time tooling around the internet, you can discover Ms. Suleyman’s admiration for both the Nation of Islam and Rev. Al Sharpton, those notable friends of the Jews and Israel! And the Jewish community in Nashville considers her a friend? They are deluded.
The Jewish Federation CRC’s director is Abbie Wolf, whose resume shows that she has previously worked for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). In addition to confirming CAIR’s Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas ties, the ADL website adds this information about CAIR:
“CAIR also continues to offer a platform to conspiratorial Israel-bashers and outright anti-Semites. For example, CAIR’s Florida chapter operates a Web site that makes anti-Semitic material available for visitors interested in learning about Islam. CAIR also organizes anti-Israel rallies during which protestors and speakers engage in anti-Semitic rhetoric, use offensive Holocaust imagery likening Jews and Israelis to Nazis, and express support for terror groups.”
So how exactly did Ms. Wolf vet her speakers? Obviously she didn’t. And she didn’t deem it necessary to have any “other” panelists from minority religions like the Hindus, who have the largest Hindu temple in the southeast in Nashville, or the Buddhists including the Vietnamese and Thai who’ve lived in Nashville for years. But those groups don’t fit the ACLU/TIRRC/Alinskyite narrative of divisiveness, do they?
