Not likely given his support for all causes Islamist.
Kelsey speaks at Memphis fundraiser “Advocating for TN Muslims”
In the 2012 legislative session, Sen. Kelsey, then a member of the Senate Education Committee, spoke passionately against a bill designed to limit the number of H1B visas used to staff publicly funded charter schools. He voted against the bill in committee and again in the full Senate.
Kelsey’s mantra was “we want the best and the brightest by whatever means.”
TCPJ May 3, 2012 newsletter detailed the high usage of H1B visas by the Cosmos Foundation to staff its U.S. charter schools. The Cosmos Foundation operates charter schools that fit Gulen school characteristics. Connections were documented between Cosmos and the Memphis School of Excellence, the failed Knoxville Charter Academy, and the then pending charter applications of the W.E.B. DuBois Consortium.
Turkish-Americans recently held a protest against the Gulenist infiltration into U.S. charter schools. One sign may have said it best: “The Most Dangerous Islamist in the World.” [Fetullah Gulen]
In Gulen’s private 1999 sermon that was leaked to Turkish television he “revealed his aspirations for an Islamist Turkey ruled by Sharia (Islamic law) as well as the methods that should be used to attain it:
“You must move in the arteries of the system without anyone noticing your existence until you reach all the power centers… until the conditions are ripe, they [the followers] must continue like this. If they do something prematurely, the world will crush our heads, and Muslims will suffer everywhere…”
It does make you wonder what the protesters know and understand about Gulen’s connection to Turkey’s Prime Minister Erdogan efforts to Islamacize Turkey. Erdogan was quoted in 1998:
“the mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets, and the faithful our soldiers.”
CBN reporter Erick Stakelbeck’s new book “The Brotherhood: America’s Next Great Enemy” , Chapter 6, confirms the very real concerns expressed by the anti-Gulen protesters. He writes:
“…classified documents released by WikiLeaks in 2011 show that U.S. officials know exactly what Gulen is up to. ‘Gulen supporters account for an increasing proportion of [the]…nonimmigrant visa applicant pool.”
Another section of the leaked cable….states, ‘have multiple reliable reports that the Gulenists use their school network (including dozens of schools in the U.S.) to cherry-pick students they think are susceptible to being molded as proselytizers…’
A Middle East analyst from the Heritage Foundation says Fetullah Gulen the Turkish imam after whom the Gulenist movement is named describes his movement as the “New World Islamic Order.”
Stakelbeck quotes French-Turkish scholar Bayram Balci’s summation of the Gulenist movement which “serves to accomplish three intellectual goals: the Islamization of the Turkish nationalist ideology; the Turkification of Islam; and the Islamization of modernity.”
As Stakelbeck points out, the work of Islamists, whether of the Turkish Gulenist or the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood variety, in the end is designed to destroy both Israel and the West.
And legislators like Tennessee Senator Brian Kelsey are doing all they can to help.
Lawfare as used by Muslim Brotherhood groups and the Left, to try and silence speech critical of Islam, doesn’t always work . But that doesn’t stop Islamists, the mainstream media and the Left even if it means eroding the right of protected political speech.
For Tennessee’s AMAC members it was not enough that their June 4th speaker, FBI special agent Ken Moore is an apologist for the Muslim Brotherhood and his comments were biased and untrustworthy. Agent Moore helped purge FBI training materials about the Muslim Brotherhood and sharia.
AMAC and the DOJ’s lawyers are committed to subverting everyone’s constitutionally protected free speech rights to insure that Muslims in Tennessee can feel respected, aren’t offended or made to feel uncomfortable. As DOJ lawyer Bill Killian made clear, he intends use hate speech as evidence in a hate crime prosecution – First Amendment be damned!
Whether the lack of fact-based training on political sharia is due to materials being sanitized, political correctness or Islamist obstruction, Killian and his ilk will be hard pressed to figure out what is fact and what is opinion. His only self-serving option will be to label anything perceived to be non-complimentary to Muslims and Islam as “hate speech”.
The director of (Hamas) CAIR St. Louis would likely help Killian find any and all anti-Muslim “hate speech” on the internet. CAIR St. Louis wants Muslim youth to monitor social media and report “anti Islamic and anti Muslim content on the internet to appropriate authorities to take action to remove it and go after those who post it online and prosecute and take actions according to the Shariah ruling.”
In Manchester, TN on June 4th, 2013, attendees made it clear that they will not stand silent while the Muslim Brotherhood and federal apologists try to trample protected speech. It’s doubtful that Killian’s threat of prosecution will work either.
Siraj Wahhaj – raised as a Baptist but converted to Islam under the leadership of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. He is the imam at the al-Taqwa mosque in New York. He preaches that the U.S. should and will become an Islamic state because “Islam is better than democracy.”
What does Wahhaj tell his audiences?
“Islam is better than democracy. Allah will cause his deen [Islam as a complete way of life], Islam to prevail over every kind of system, and you know what? It will happen.”
“If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate. If we were united and strong, we’d elect our own emir and give allegiance to him. Take my word, if eight million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us,” he said in 1992.
“You don’t get involved in politics because it’s the American thing to do. You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam.” http://www.clarionproject.org/analysis/popular-muslim-iman-working-towards-sharia-america
There is much more to read about Wahhaj at the Clarion Project.
As reported by USA Today, “Yasir Qadhi, who lectured at the Boston mosque in April 2009, has advocated replacing U.S. democracy with Islamic rule…”
Make no mistake, he has lots in common with radicalist Wahhaj.
When it serves their purpose, the AMAC and ACO’s outreach message is “Muslims are just like everybody else.” Sometimes the message is “Muslim women have more rights under Islam than American women.”
On June 4th at the American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) program in Manchester,TN, the outreach message was different still. Zak Mohyuddin’s opening remarks warned that it is a “simple fact of life that nothing stays the same. Change is always happening. American Muslims are part of the changing demographics of this country.”
Some of the issues reported to be associated with this demographic change include the increase in female genital mutilation, honor killings, and jihad motivated attacks. Allahu akbar! Were AMAC members honest enough to acknowledge the Medinan parts of the Quran, they would have to admit that Muhammad’s legacy as a political warrior and the atrocities that he and his followers committed, were considered sacred acts. This history lesson could really shed some light on the Islam the world is experiencing today.
Mohyuddin also said that it “must be unacceptable and unfashionable to lump all American Muslims into a one dimensional, exaggerated stereotype. One that is based on the distorted and self-reinforcing assumptions of who we are.” Since the AMAC and ACO hold themselves out as the Muslim voice in Tennessee does that mean that they are speaking on behalf of all Tennessee’s Muslims?
The audience was then shown an excerpt from the “Welcome to Shelbyville” propaganda film where women found common ground by sharing a meal and music. The message? Given the chance, otherwise bigoted, hateful, mean-spirited and xenophobic small town Tennesseans would realize that “we really are all the same.”
But FBI agent Ken Moore told the audience something different albeit something the audience already understood and didn’t like. Moore told the audience that he believes that a “sound and trusting relationship with the Muslim community and other communities of faith are very important in helping us to keep this nation safe.” Everyone knew that Moore’s comments were biased and untrustworthy because he was one of the key FBI leaders who purged FBI training materials about the Muslim Brotherhood and sharia.
Agent Moore referenced the 2011 national hate crime statistics (2012 haven’t been published yet) and the fact that 20% were identified as motivated by religion-bias. It seems ironic however, that he would use this reference at a Muslim outreach program but fail to mention that of the total 1,480 anti-religious hate crimes in 2011 63.2% were against Jews and only 12.5% were committed against Muslims. Since he was speaking to a Tennessee audience he could also have shared that the 2011 TBI hate crime statistics show 5 anti-Jewish acts, 2 anti-Protestant and 3 anti-Islamic and even more dramatically, the TBI 2012 statistics show 5 anti-Jewish hate crimes and only 1 anti-Islamic.
He closed his segment with this sentiment: “what has always seen us through our difficult times is our unity as Americans, not our religion, not our race, not our gender but our citizenship as Americans.” Would Agent Moore be able to make the same statement as confidently after reading the April 2013 Hudson Institute report “America’s Patriotic Assimilation System is Broken”?
Sabina Mohyuddin followed with a power point presentation titled “Understanding the American Muslim Community” and opened with a resounding “I want to see a show of hands, how many people are native Tennesseans?” And then she emphatically shouted,
“SO AM I! I was born and raised in Nashville, my children were born here and raised here [see, we’re all Tennesseans, right?]
and that makes me a second generation Muslim and my children third generation Muslims and I’m proud to be an American and Tennessean above all.”
AMAC member Sabina Mohyuddin promises to keep on talking.
We say, please do, because the more you talk, the more we understand who you really are and that “American Muslims” whether naturalized citizens or native born, are prevented by their own doctrine from considering themselves Americans first and foremost. Indeed Mohyuddin told us that Muslims living in the U.S stay “true to their Muslim values while still staying uniquely American.”
Talk about a contradiction in terms.
