Newsletter #35 – Update on Memphis Shariah fundamentalist Yasir Qadhi

It’s not the big things that change America, it’s the simple things” – so said Dr. Bashar Shala, chairman of the Memphis Islamic Center (MIC), who along with Rev. Steve Stone of Heartsong Church, is promoting the “Friendship Park” in Cordova, TN.  http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2012/jul/28/faith-matters-church-mosque-plan-to-build-park/

Right Side News just released a piece on Qadhi titled “ICNA Embraces America’s Favorite Salafi Preacher” (August 2, 2102)   http://www.rightsidenews.com/2012080216780/us/islam-in-america/icna-embraces-americas-favorite-salafi-preacher.html

It was reported that ICNA, one of the unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation trial, had Qadhi speak at their 2012 conference themed “Defending Religious Freedom: Understanding Shariah”.

The article and its links are worth the time since they provide lots of video time of the fundamentalist political Shariah Qadhi espouses:

“To believe that it is permissible to follow a way of life, to follow a system of laws other than the              Sharia, negates one’s testimony of Islam”… This type of thinking is clear kufr, clear disbelief, to believe that you know better, or any system of government knows better, any democracy or any…whether it be communism or socialism, any type of philosophy is better than Islam, or it is allowed legitimately, it is allowed to follow this sytem, this is a profession of the fact that you believe that Allah is not All-Knowledgeable”

Except of course for religious freedom which just happens to be protected by the very system Qadhi rejects as “kufr”.
